Among the many ridiculous inventions, this never fails to make me laugh. I first spotted this portable cellphone booth some years ago and the dead serious look on the guy's face actually cracked me up. I bet carrying this around is like backpacking with a CRT monitor. Haha!
Nick Rodriguez, the sculptor, came up with this idea for just one reason:
To be open and receptive to one another is an invaluable trait not to be given up or taken advantage of. The sculptures that I make are my way of talking about the issues we all see but cannot change.That's for us to learn how to value real-time interaction between the ones we care about and to be reminded of our own social obligations. So what keeps you from drowning into self-involvement? A portable and retractable cellphone booth is this man's take.
